Here are some herbs that are great to use externally as essential oils (see page 31 for more on using these). You can keep the bottle with you to smell when you need to, or simply put a few drops onto a cloth or on your clothes.

You can also put one or a combination of these essential oils into a room diffuser or add them to water or alcohol and use as a spray. It can also be nice to dilute a few drops with an oil of your choice to make a massage oil.

Lemon balm has a fresh, uplifting aroma that is also soothing and calming.

Peppermint is uplifting and reviving.

Rose is sensuous, relaxing, soothes anxiety and relaxes the heart. It boosts self-esteem and promotes a feeling of happiness.
